On December 13, the fourth annual edition of the J L Power New Luxury Rankings for Smart EVs in China was officially released. Of the 20 models selectded in the top 5 rankings across four categories, namely Pure Electric Sedans, Pure Electric Sports Cars, Pure Electric SUVs, and Pure Electric MPVs, 75% are equipped with CATL batteries. Among them, 100% of the top 5 SUVs and 80% of the top 5 sedans feature CATL batteries. 

The rapid advancement of electrification and intelligence in the automotive industry is driving the deeper integration of innovative technologies like new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence.This comprehensive reshaping of the industrial ecosystem is prompting academia and industry to redefine what constitutes "luxury" in the era of smart electric vehicles. 

As a new benchmark for evaluating next-generation smart electric vehicles, the J L Power rankings showcase top-of-the-line pure electric models priced above 300,000 yuan (41,000 U.S. dollars) that have already been mass-produced and delivered in China. Power batteries have emerged as a critical factor in determining a vehicle's "technological luxury," serving as a key indicator of a luxury electric vehicle's quality, performance, and technological innovation. 

From January to October 2024, CATL secured a 63% market share in the high-end electric vehicle market, supplying batteries to over 2.22 million premium vehicles.
